Across multiple flagship attractions at Universal Orlando Resort, I served as the senior technical authority during live performances, responsible for guest and performer safety, crew coordination, and show quality. I was trusted to stop shows, hold effects, and make real-time safety calls in front of audiences of up to 2,000 guests.

Technical Lead & Stage Management

My approach is grounded in one core principle:

Consistency creates safety, and safety enables spectacle.

Projection Mapping and Nighttime Spectacle

Hogwarts Castle Projection Shows

I served as a technical lead for large scale projection mapping shows utilizing 24 projectors blended into a single cohesive image across the castle facade. The show integrated projection, lighting, and audio systems across rooftops, facades, and throughout the land.

Our team supported multiple versions of the show, including daily performances, a Halloween themed “Deathly Hallows” version, and a winter holiday overlay. Nightly responsibilities included projector maintenance, alignment, blend zone adjustment, wireframe quality control, and land-wide audio system checks.

All systems were hidden within show architecture and operated through centralized control systems, requiring deep familiarity with both technical infrastructure and physical environments.

Audio Video Technical Lead

Cinematic Celebration

This nighttime lagoon show combined synchronized projection, audio, lighting, lasers, and an array of 90 programmable fountains, each with individual LED color control and motion capabilities.

I worked across control rooms, facades, rooftops, and the lagoon to troubleshoot projectors, fountains, and audio & lighting systems.

The Bourne Stuntacular

Technical Lead

The Bourne Stuntacular is a cinematic live performance built around a 100-yard long, 30-foot tall curved LED wall delivering immersive environments. The show integrates moving set pieces, autonomous vehicles, performer flying systems, lifts, traps, live weapons, and large-scale stunt choreography.

As technical lead, I operated from the booth with responsibility for show control, special effects, and overall safety. I maintained in-depth knowledge of show action equipment, stunt systems, media playback, and building infrastructure.

The show included complex systems such as a rotating vehicle platform, performer lifts, catwalk falls, and timed weapon effects. In this environment, a single incorrect movement could escalate quickly. I was responsible for recognizing unsafe conditions and stopping the show immediately when required.

I authored new standard operating procedures for the attraction, creating clear, usable documentation designed to support future technicians and ensure consistency across rotating lead teams.

Fear Factor Live was a complex stunt-driven attraction combining retracting platforms, falling walls, pyrotechnic effects, live animals, and guest participation. As the senior technical lead, I held primary responsibility for show control systems, pyrotechnics operations, and real time safety decisions.

The audio and video team operated the show as a live television production. Guests were filmed, edited, and broadcast in real time within a two hour experience. The booth included a live video switcher, a remote camera operator calling cues and selecting live content, a roaming wireless camera operator on stage, and a backstage editor producing contestant intro packages live for each show.

As pyrotechnics lead, I was responsible for inventory, maintenance, loading, pre-show testing, and live go or no-go decisions. Effects were fired at close range and required constant situational awareness of performers, crew, and guests.

Fear Factor Live

Technical Lead, Show Control, Pyrotechnics, and Stage Management

Fear Factor Live

As stage manager, I oversaw stage operations, prop placement, and daily coordination of a large multidisciplinary team including Hollywood stunt professionals, casting teams, and experienced AV technicians. My background as a technician allowed me to communicate fluently across departments and maintain a holistic view of the show.

I have trained and mentored numerous technicians across new hire onboarding, cross training, and advancement. I adjust communication style based on department needs, whether coordinating with stunt teams, performers, creative leadership, or engineering and maintenance.

I prioritize clear documentation, repeatable processes, and controlled troubleshooting environments. I followed company-wide lockout / tagout procedures and built systems that support safe decision making under pressure.
